JON ROESER HAS $25,000 PAYDAY AND EARNS CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AT NRCHA STALLION STAKES

Roeser brothers claim top titles at the 2012 National Reined Cow Horse Association Stakes in Queen Creek, Arizona.

Million dollar Rider Jon Roeser won the NRCHA Stakes Open Championship on March 25 in Queen Creek, Arizona, by 4.5 points - earning a Bob's Custom Saddle sponsored by Julie-Anne O'Rear, a Gist Silversmiths buckle, a $50 gift certificate from Santa Cruz Biotechnologies, and a C.R. Morrison medallion.

Oct. 25, 2010 – Sparked by a high-scoring 149 fence work, million-dollar rider Jon Roeser, Lemoore, Calif., rode Smart Lookin Cat (WR This Cats Smart x Miss Katie Hancock x Jay Doceroo), owned by Dana Haefner, to the Idaho Reined Cow Horse Association Futurity Open Championship Sunday, Oct. 24 at the Idaho Horse Park in Nampa, Idaho.

Lemoore, California trainer Jon Roeser topped the herd work preliminaries of the National Reined Cow Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity, held September 21-October 4 in Reno, Nevada. Roeser’s score of 222 on Respond Lika Fox, owned by Clear Lake Land & Cattle Ranch, beat the next closest competitor by two points, and certainly got the attention of the crowd at the Reno Livestock Event Center. Roeser and Respond Lika Fox, by Heart Of A Fox and out of SPD Remedys Response, competed on the first day of the Open Herd Work preliminaries as draw 43. The next 200 entries tried their best to score higher, but Roeser and the talented stallion kept a firm grip on the lead.

The former Snaffle Bit Futurity Champion probably had a little foresight when it came to training Respond Lika Fox, as he also trained and showed his sire, Heart Of A Fox. With Roeser at the reins, Heart Of A Fox amassed earnings exceeding $100,000!

At the Annual Hall of Fame Banquet on October 1, Roeser will be awarded a Gist Silversmiths Gold Buckle, sponsored by Bill and Michelle Cowan, and a Cutting Horse Bronze from the NCHA, for the preliminary herd work win.

Jon Roeser and Heart Of A Remedy take National Reined Cow Horse Assocation Stakes Open Championship!

by NRCHA Sunday, March 25, 2012.

Million Dollar Rider Jon Roeser won the NRCHA Stakes Open Championship by 4.5 points"

Roeser was riding Heart Of A Remedy, by Heart Of A Fox out of SPF Remedys Response. The pair started out with a 219 in the herd work, and followed that with a 219 in the rein work. “I drew well in the herd. After that I just had a feeling about the day. He was so soft and responsive in everything we did,” said Roeser, of Lemoore, California.

But the 5-year-old stallion and the veteran trainer weren’t finished. When Roeser saw his cow for the fence work, he knew they had a chance to score big. “I liked the cow from the herd work – I knew it was good. We didn’t stay long on the end. We got a good right turn and got out good for another big left turn. The cow still had a little gas so we circled really fast – it was great,” he said. The judges agreed and rewarded the pair with a 227 – the highest cow work of the event!

Roeser owns Heart Of A Remedy’s sire, Heart Of A Fox, with Karen Twisselman. “We won about $120,000 on him. He was a really nice horse and had a good career even though he had some bad luck,” he explained.

Roeser said, “I thank my wife, Tanya, and my son, Clay, for everything.”
